21C3: Pirate radio. Free radio. Real Public Radio

Pirate radio. Free radio. Real Public Radio. Call it what you like, the act of liberating the airwaves by boldly going beyond the license-games of government bodies and the at times nauseating musical monotony of commerical stations has a lot in common with hacking and liberating bits and bytes.

Thus, we are proud and happy to have pirate radio activists from the USA at the congress. b9punk, a girl from KBFR, a "wildly successful and growing station based out of Boulder, Colorado", together with pirate radio DJ ZT will be talking about how to start your own station and staying on air, bringing the hacker scene to pirate radio and adventurous encounters with the FCC, the organisation that protects American frequencies from the people's voice.

They will also set up a live broadcast to the US from the congress, streamed across the ocean via Internet, which is a cool hack in itself.

As an encore, b9punk will have another talk at the Haecksen, the congress space by women and girls in the CCC. Here, she'll be talking on the subject of "A Fat Girl's Intimate Perspective on Hacker Culture and Spaces; How to Survive a Cock Fight, without a Cock". This, too, sounds like fun and insight. Welcome, b9punk!
